Helping Hands Orchard Valley Nova Scotia delivered 20 used bicycles donated by community members to children of Ukrainian families staying at the Annapolis Basin Conference Centre in Cornwallis Park.

Raven said they purchased new bike helmets for all the recipients as well. She said there are a lot of paved roads at Cornwallis Park and without a lot of traffic it’s relatively safe, making it a great place for kids to ride bikes. Thanks to Helping Hands Orchard Valley, the Oakhaven Bike Barn and Annapolis Valley generosity, Ukrainian children staying at Cornwallis Park have been gifted bikes. Raven said there are two more bikes to deliver to children who arrived at Cornwallis Park the previous week. Helping Hands Orchard Valley will be continuing with the bicycle donation program in the spring. She said the program couldn’t happen without the support of community members willing to donate bikes.
