The Annapolis Region Community Arts Council’s secret to success was a simple three-letter word, says its first executive director. | SaltWire

The council operated from storefront to storefront, mostly in Annapolis Royal, for the first 15 years. When the Rebekah Lodge building became available in 1996, the council was given the opportunity to take it over.The council has hosted many events over the years. It included a festival that ran for about 20 years and attracted numerous stars. Many of the connections were made by writer Bill Percy, who was living in Granville Ferry.
“It’s amazing to have something like this ,” he said. “I think the arts have always been an important part of this community.”He said the centre will continue to evolve.
