The pet brand, Pawp, will be donating $10,000 to animal rescues every time the words 'Power of the Dog' are spoken at the Oscars this Sunday 🐾
The pet brand, Pawp, has announced that they will be donating $10,000 to pet rescues every time Power of the Dog is said during the 2022 Oscars. Power of the Dog is the frontrunner in this years Academy Awards. The film is directed by Jane Campion and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Power of the Dog received the most Oscar nominations this year, with twelve nominations in total. The four lead stars nabbed an Oscar nomination each for their acting, while Campion was nominated for Best Director. The film was also nominated for Best Picture, along with a slew of other nominations for editing, screenplay, sound, music, and cinematography. Power of the Dog has already won big at such awards as the BAFTAs and is expected to follow suit at the Oscars.
While Power of the Dog has nothing to do with dogs, Pawp is thrilled that it is the most nominated film, guaranteeing pups in need will be this year's true winners. Pawp's donation plan is quite incredible, and it will potentially turn the Oscars into one of the biggest pet charity events of the year. Considering Power of the Dog's lead in the Oscar nominations, one can expect it to be said dozens of times during the night. Especially when one considers, in addition to announcements, there are sure to be acceptance speeches riddled with"Power of the Dog.
This generous pledge from Pawp will see to it that this year's Oscars really do give power to the dogs. Meanwhile, it gives fans of Power of the Dog yet another reason to cross their fingers for the film's Oscars performance. The Oscars is one of the biggest nights in Hollywood every year, and the cost to stage the awards each year is upwards of several tens of millions of dollars.
