Talented local angler Johann Keet died on January 29 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in November.

Johann Keet holding a trophy that he won with the Daggafontein Angling Club colours.

His wife, Marisa, said Keet was the president of the Daggafontein Angling Club and captain of the South African Freshwater Ladies Team before he died. “Apart from being a good angler and golfer, Johann was a good person – humble, patient and soft towards every person. “Johann went back for check-ups and doctors found that he had a cavity on his brain. He was supposed to go for chemotherapy and radiation after they found the cavity but his body was too weak for that and the doctors recommended he regain his strength first.
