The Spurs gaffer is chasing Champions League football but he'd rather two £50million players than one at £100m

Ange Postecoglou has warned Tottenham fans not to expect the club to spend £100million on a single player - even if their EPL rivals are splashing out big fees.

The most the North London outfit has paid for a player is £54m for Tanguy Ndombele in 2019, but he hasn't been a success and might be sold for just £12m. Postecoglou explained: "I don't think we are in a position to spend £100m on a player, if that is what you are suggesting. That is not the case and I don't think it will ever be the case for the club. Our competitors are, irrespective of the positions., reports the Mirror.

"It is purely financial. If I had the luxury of £100m, I would rather get two £50m players. Cor that is great isn’t it. Wonderful. The world I have come from!" Postecoglou continued: "It could be my background and conservative nature where I have come from. I have never been in that kind of position, I always felt that it is really important how you use the funds you have available.
