'Why are members from my community being excluded from helping out when so many people are sick and dying? Maybe because we're valuing stigma over science?'

"All donated blood is screened for HIV and a rapid HIV test can be done in 20 minutes or less. So, why the three-month rule? Why are members from my community being excluded from helping out when so many people are sick and dying?" Cohen asked."Maybe because we're valuing stigma over science? I don't know. My blood could save a life but instead it's over here boiling.

Cohen noted that the coronavirus pandemic has caused most everyone to adapt by wearing masks and social distancing among other things and wondered why the FDA couldn't adapt it's restrictions on blood donations. "It is bad enough that quarantine has us wondering what day it is, I'm sitting here wondering what year it is. We need to think about this and do better," Cohen ended his rant."After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus," he captioned a solemn selfie on Instagram.

Bravo's late night host spoke about his illness on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live” on March 24 and shared that he's been "quarantined in my room." He said not being able to be with his son, born in February 2019, the most tortuous part. A week later on March 31, Cohen shared a photo to Instagram of him and his son saying he's hosted many reunions but the one with his kid was the best.
