Wimbledon has seen its fair share of tantrums over the years but Andrey Rublev may have just taken the top prize for 2024... on day two.
The sixth seed reacted furiously after making an error that cost him a key point in his first round defeat to Argentine Francisco Comesana.With the score at one set apiece, sixth seed Rublev hit a wayward shot that allowed Comesana to break his serve and go 4-1 up to take control of the third set.
Unfortunately for Rublev, his emotions got the better of him with Comesana progressing into the second round with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 score.commentator, said: "Well we have seen some overreactions at this year's Wimbledon but that’s extraordinary from Rublev and it’s because the man who is playing in his second-ever grass court match is 4-1 up on him on the third set.
