Andreescu advances to third round at US Open with win over Davis

Canada's Bianca Andreescu has advanced to the third round at the US Open with a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 win over American Lauren Davis.

Andreescu will next face Greet Minnen of Belgium in her quest to win her second major title in New York.

Earlier Thursday, Canadian Vasek Pospisil lost his second-round match 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 to Ilya Ivashka of Belarus.
