Party president Cyril Ramaphosa says this is to ensure comprehensive growth and social development.
He says the ANC's national policy conference acknowledged the roles played by both the public and private sectors in improving the lives of South Africans.
He said,"we have called for the state to be strengthened, for our SOEs to be stabilised, restructured and effectively capacitated to drive inclusive economic growth and social development." "We have recognised the vital role of the private sector particularly small businesses and informal sector, including cooperatives...we've recognised that private sector should continue to play role in creating employment and other livelihood opportunities...and so should the public sector as well...conference endorsed the actions recently announced by government to improve the performance of Eskom's existing power stations and to add new generation capacity as quickly as possible.
