The five applicants, who are local ANC members, want the court to order that the decisions of the first leg of the provincial conference “be declared null and void, on account of irregularities and non-compliance with provisions of the enabling constitution”. “I am one of the four persons nominated by our branch to attend the provincial conference. Despite that, I was denied and refused participation at conference by the officials attending to the accreditation of delegates,” she said. “While I am the individual personally disenfranchised as aforesaid, I submit that the constituency which has nominated and designated me to attend conference on their behalf has also been disenfranchised.
