The African National Congress in the North West Province has not given any clarity as to whether Tshepo Khoza will also resign as a Member of the Legislature following his resignation as Deputy Speaker.
Khoza was appointed as the Deputy Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature less than three months ago. He resigned as Deputy Speaker on Friday after allegations that he submitted a matric certificate with a different ID number to the one on his payslips.“In terms of our step-aside policy it says when comrades are charged by the court of law on certain schedules of offences or any other matter that puts the name of the ANC into disrepute, the step-aside must then kick in. We’re applying that, not to say we confirm that he’s guilty, he indeed fraudulently faked the matric results.
Meanwhile, Hendriëtte Van Huyssteen from the Democratic Alliance says criminal charges should be brought against Khoza.
