Instagram have said they have taken down the page.

Instagram user @julzhmc then posted a screenshot of a conversation they said they had with @sudanmealproject, accusing them of creating the account for clout. The post went viral.@Julzhmc told BuzzFeed News they reached out to the page while it was active. They said their first DM to the page was"bro why are you faking this" and that @sudanmealproject admitted the page was fake.

They continued:"Well I kept seeing people repost this certain page so I decided to check it out for myself, as I was checking it I kinda noticed it didn’t look like a real organization page. "I did a little research and came to the conclusion that it was pretty fake. I sent a dm the same day and got a response, my first message was 'bro why are you faking this'."

@sudanmealproject ended up changing its username to @Sudanplan but people were tracking it. It was at over 300,000 followers before the account disappeared.
