The 'Back to Black' soundtrack for the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic will feature music from 'Frank,' plus Nick Cave, Billie Holiday, and more.
, out alongside the film on May 17, will feature 12 songs in its standard edition.will appear on the soundtrack, including “What Is It About Men,” “Stronger Than Me,” and “Know You Now.” Another three come from her second and final studio album,. The selections include the title track, “Love Is a Losing Game,” and “Tears Dry on Their Own.”
Slotted amongst Winehouse’s recordings are entries from Billie Holiday , Minnie Riperton , Dinah Washington , and Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown . These artists, according to a press release, will have their music featured at “key moments” in the film.for the Sam Taylor-Johnson film alongside Warren Ellis, recorded an original song for the soundtrack. “Song for Amy” is the only new recording included on the album.adds 14 songs to the original track list.
Among the 14 additional entires are selections from Thelonious Monk, the Specials, Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Shangri-Las, Donny Hathaway, the Libertines, Tony Bennett, and Willie Nelson. The compilation record will be available digitally as well as in two-LP and two-CD formats.stars Marisa Abela as Winehouse. The actress performs a number of the musician’s recordings in the film, which was made with support from the Winehouse estate.
