Amnesty International highlights the ongoing struggle for accountability, revealing the aftermath of the military regime's actions.

In the wake of Chad's tragic protest crackdown, the families of victims are still in search of justice.

The families of people killed in a bloody crackdown on a protest against Chad’s military regime are still waiting for justice one year on, Amnesty International said on Friday. “The security forces responded by using live ammunition against the demonstrators, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries,” the rights group said in a statement to mark the anniversary of the bloodshed.

They were tried behind closed doors, without lawyers, and most sentenced to prison for “attempted insurrection”.
