It is unclear whether the repairs are related to last year’s damage.
Lifeguards are not yet on duty on the city’s beaches, noted the park board, as outdoor lifeguards are still undergoing orientation. The start date for supervised beaches will also be announced next week. In Coquitlam, Eagle Ridge outdoor pool is set to open June 3, while its other outdoor pool, Spani pool, is closed for 2023 due to renovation work.
Moody Park pool has been open since April after the city extended its season in response to the closure of the Canada Games pool. Two other outdoor facilities in New West, Hume Park pool and Grimston Park wading pool, will open May 20.
