Her favourite British staples are brown sauce, salad cream and sausage rolls curiously
An American woman has declared she is ‘addcited’ to British foods and spends £250 a month feeding her new obsession. Amy Bristol-Sandvig is paying a high price in the states to buy British foods such as sausage rolls and brown sauce.
"It reminded me a lot of the original Lea & Perrins steak sauce back in the 90s which hasn’t been available since." Amy’s latest obsession costs her an “embarrassingly” £250 a month as she has to pay a premium price at her local Brit deli with a bottle of brown sauce costing $6 and a bottle of salad cream $10 ."A single small bottle of brown sauce runs me about $6 , and salad cream? That one hurt at $10 ,” she said.
"I picked up a couple of things, one being a little single-serving pot of HP brown sauce, and a package of sausage rolls."I really love the flavour of the brown sauce. It goes well with anything."
