An American tourist was shot in the face moments after touching down in SA. His GPS took him through one of the world's most dangerous areas.
The 55-year-old Walter Fischel had arrived in the city on Friday and hired a vehicle to go to Simon’s Town.However, the navigation system in the car directed him to go through Nyanga, one of the most dangerous townships in the country.According to reports, he had to have surgery on his face and lost several teeth.Meanwhile, two German tourists were attacked and robbed in broad daylight earlier this week at a Cape Town nature reserve., the attack happened around 13:00 on Tuesday.
“The suspect hit the man and showed him that he had a panga when the victim hit him tried to resist,” he says. “The second suspect grabbed the woman’s camera and forced her to the ground. The woman gave the suspect money in an attempt to release her.”A passer-by saw what was happening, prompting the suspects to flee.POLICE ARRESTED THE TWO ARMED MEN
According to Van Wyk, the stolen items were recovered, as well as the weapons used during the robbery. The suspects, respectively 30 and 34 years old, are facing charges of armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
