American tourist robbed and shot in the face in Cape Town
The tourist, from Connecticut in the US, was withdrawing money from an ATM in Nyanga, Cape Town, on Friday when the incident happened.He was set to visit friends in Cape Town.
"I'm extremely lucky to have made it out alive. But, as soon as I'm given the all-clear, I am leaving the country," said the man. He said his initial plan, before being shot, was to stay in Cape Town for at least two weeks and then make his way back to the US. It's alleged that he used a map application on his iPhone to get to his rental accommodation in Simons Town. He was, however, seemingly directed through the nearby township to get to his destination. "He was robbed of his personal belongings, documents and clothing.
