So that's what happened to it!
For nearly 20 years thousands of fun-seekers enjoyed the thrills and spills of rides at the American Adventure Theme Park. The Missile, Custer's Carousel, Buffalo Stampede and Yankee Clipper were among the favourites.
But one ride ended up thousands of miles away in the Middle East. The Runaway Train, a family favourite, was bought in 2009 by Nottingham's Mellors Group, the operative behind the city's Winter Wonderland and the beach in Old Market Square. Originally a permanent ride at the American Adventure, it has since been converted into a fully mobile attraction, travelling around the Middle East.
