Amazon Manager Pulled Middle Finger With R187 Million Fraud Scheme, Spending Funds On A Tesla, Etc
That’s one way to stick it to the big man . It would have been more of a power move if the former operations manager at the e-commerce giant’s Georgia warehouse, Kayricka Wortham, wasn’t just sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for orchestrating the plot, though.
Working at the Amazon warehouse from August 2020 to March 2022, Kayricka would pass the fake vendors on to unknowing subordinates to process, making fake invoices for them and linking them to bank accounts that she and her accomplices controlled. Kayricka also dragged her coworkers into the scheme – including someone working in loss prevention, as well as a senior human resources manager – who provided Wortham with additional names and social security numbers to create more fake vendor accounts.
