Amazon in talks with Icasa about bringing Starlink rival Project Kuiper to SA

Amazon is engaging with South Africa's communications regulator regarding regulatory approval for its proposed sattelite internet service.

US tech giant Amazon is engaging with the SA's communications regulator over its Project Kuiper satellite internet service ahead of a proposed launch in the next two years. Naveen Kachroo, the head of product and business development at Project Kuiper, told News24 on the sidelines of the Gitex Africa conference in Morocco that this approval is necessary even if the e-services are sold through a partner provider. It is also being proactive in gaining approvals from various stakeholders across the region, he said.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
