Amazon has alleged that political interference from President Donald Trump, a frequent critic of CEO Jeff Bezos, played a role in Microsoft winning the JEDI contract. However, a recent Pentagon investigation cleared Microsoft's victory, concluding that the award was granted fairly. Microsoft says Amazon has filed a new complaint with the Department of Defense over the $10 billion JEDI cloud computing contract. The new complaint comes after a federal judge paused Amazon's lawsuit challenging the agency's decision to award the contract to Microsoft.
"It's not surprising that Microsoft is trying to posture here, but anybody who's studied the cloud computing space will tell you that AWS has a much more functional, capable, cost-effective, and operationally strong offering," the spokesperson said.
