Just days after hitting headlines for pulling out of Strictly Come Dancing, Amanda Abbington has given her backing to a fellow star.
The star missed the BBC show on October 21 because of 'medical reasons' and then two days later, it confirmed that Amanda had left the competition as other Strictly stars, including her pro partner Giovanni Pernice, spoke out to share their sadness at her departure.She wrote: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.
No further details have been released by Strictly bosses or Amanda leaving fans to speculate on why she left. Despite not being there for the Halloween special, it seems Amanda tuned in from home, reports the ChronicleLive. On Sunday, Kai Widdrjngton posted a video of the judges talking about a moment from his and Angela Rippon's Charleston to the Murder She Wrote theme tune. The routine scored them an impressive 33 out of 40 and, clearly a fan of it, Sherlock actress Amanda gave it her firm seal of approval by writing underneath: "F***in fantastic."
Although Amanda clearly loved what she saw from Kai and Angela R this week, the couple have garnered some criticism from viewers, who have accused the judges of 'overmarking' the routine, particularly Craig Revel-Horwood who gave it a 9.
