'There’s no chance that Scottish clubs can consistently compete on a regular basis with the finances of the top teams,' says Ally McCoist
In the wake of Celtic’s drew, talkSPORT host and ex-Chelsea man Cundy branded the performance of the Scottish teams in Europe as ’embarrassing’., Cundy said: “There’s no reason why these Scottish sides can’t do something and then all of a sudden you realise that actually, they are miles [off]. They’re not even close.
“You’re right that money makes a difference but the reality is that Scottish football is lightyears behind. “It’s embarrassing mate. I’d genuinely love to know from Celtic and Rangers fans where they see themselves right now in the world of football. They are fourth tier.”“The truth is they give it the big-un and say ‘we want the English clubs, bring on Liverpool, bring on City’. We saw what happened, they had their pants pulled down.
“This season Rangers did well getting to the Champions League group stages, but the fact of the matter is – and I include Hearts and Motherwell – the results have been really, really poor.
