This means significant precipitation for some while others will receive little to nothing. However, winds will be strong across the entire region. The weakening of the surface low and the position of the upper-level trough means much of western Nova Scotia and western/southern New Brunswick will avoid most of this system with some light snow possible Tuesday night into Wednesday.
10 to 20 cm is forecast for western Guysborough County to the Halifax County border, north to Pictou County, across P.E.I. and eastern New Brunswick with local amounts approaching 30 cm. In Newfoundland, as much as 10 to 30 cm is forecast over higher terrain in western/central regions by Thursday, otherwise, 15 to 30 mm of rain will fall over central/eastern Newfoundland with amounts that could reach 30 to 60-plus mm.
