The active weather pattern over Atlantic Canada is forecast to continue through next week.
The weekend finishes on a quiet note, but two storms are set to roll through the region next week. What some have called the snow drought in parts of western Nova Scotia has come to an end.
The guidance late Friday has increased snowfall amounts for the Avalon Peninsula, and if the track remains, a general 20 to 40 cm looks likely, but pockets of 40 to 60-plus cm are certainly possible in the St. John’s and metro region. While the snow eases to flurries in Newfoundland Sunday, lots of sunshine is forecast over the Maritime provinces. The first is low pressure that will move up the Eastern Seaboard and through Atlantic Canada Monday and Tuesday.
