At this point, no major storms are set to roll through as we close our January and welcome February, but that doesn’t mean we’re completely rid of the unsettled weather.

Two relatively weak troughs of low-pressure will impact our weather this weekend into early next week, with more widespread impacts Sunday night and Monday. It certainly was a wild weather week – especially the winds that howled Thursday and into Friday across the region.

A ridge of high-pressure is trying to keep our weather calm, but a weak trough will move into Labrador and will bring some isolated showers or wet flurries into the Maritime provinces today and tonight, then for Newfoundland Sunday. The result will be about five to 10 cm for much of New Brunswick, along with central and western Newfoundland, with pockets of 15 cm. Western P.E.I. and parts of eastern Newfoundland could accumulate up to five centimetres. Otherwise, for those provinces and Nova Scotia, little-to-no snow is forecast, with two to 10 mm of rain from the system.
