In the region of Arsia Mons, which is near the raised region known as the Tharsis Bulge, multiple"skylights" have been observed that are indicative of underground lava tubes.These tubes are considered by many to be an ideal location for building a base. Not only would the skylights allow for access to the surface, but the tunes themselves are far enough beneath the surface to provide protection against radiation and seasonal temperatures.
