, chief executive Torsten Müller-Ötvös said that it was built in response to customer demand, many of whom already own electric vehicles from other brands. He added that there are plenty of more electric Rolls-Royce models on the horizon.
“The Spectre is only electric,” he said. “All future Rolls-Royces, new ones, will be only electric, whilst maintaining what Rolls-Royce stands for. This should be the most dynamic RR ever in history. And it is.”Müller-Ötvös believes that electric powertrains suit the Rolls-Royce brand, noting that it doesn’t rely on the emotion of combustion engines like some other automakers.
“Electric is the future. It will happen,” he said. “I also think it fits perfectly with the brand. We don’t have any problems with [the end of] roaring engines.”complement classic Rolls-Royce characteristics like a smooth and quiet ride, as well as effortless power, absolutely perfectly, you still cannot travel as far in a Spectre as you can in a combustion-powered Rolls-Royce.
“If you’re not allowed to enter city centers in a Rolls-Royce, game over. Look around London: those Rolls-Royces are all privately owned. We need to keep building the cars these clients want,” he said.Car Magazine
