As the City of Greater Sudbury cleans up after the latest winter storm, Canada Post says it has suspended delivery for Friday
The latest wallop of snow was the greatest storm event of the season so far, with 14.4 centimetres of the white stuff falling on Thursday.
On Thursday, the storm appeared to peak at approximately 6 p.m., by which time visibility dropped to 400 metres amid moderate, blowing snow. Meanwhile, Canada Post issued a media release indicating they are suspending delivery in Greater Sudbury for the day due to inclement weather. City crews were out salting and sanding before the storm event arrived, according to a social media post by the city. They initiated a full call-out of all contractors at 6 p.m. Thursday, by which time the city had received 8 cm of snow.The city’s policies dictate all roads are clear and passable within 24 hours of a winter storm event ending.
