AliciaKeys closed out a tour with a gig in Mexico City, and sat front row at the Dior Cruise show while she was in town. See her diary from the Dior show.
is really awesome,” says Keys. “It was the most beautiful way to end the most incredible tour.”
Both events were a special occasion for Keys, given it was her very first time in Mexico City. In addition to the amazing food and beautiful architecture, the star says she was instantly drawn to the city’s people. “I just really love the people, the energy, the love,” says Keys. “The art is incredible.” She was particularly struck by just how big the city is, too. “Culturally, it is so rich and it’s such a big city – so much bigger than you would maybe even think,” she says.
Seeing the show from the front row was an “emotional” experience, she said. “The inspiration that was taken from Mexican culture that was honoured, just really seeing that play out in the show was really beautiful – with all the hairstyles, the faces of the women and the diversity of the models,” Keys says. “I thought that was really powerful.
Now that her Mexico City jaunt is over, however, Keys will rest for a bit. But come June, she’ll be right back to work with her “Keys to the Summer” tour, which kicks off on 28 June in the US. “It’s going to be incredible,” says Keys. “It’s my first 360 [degrees] show ever! The stage is right in the middle of the entire arena. It’s going to be one of the most beautiful, special things I’ve ever done.
