Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister remains an injury doubt for Argentina's World Cup qualifier against Colombia despite playing against Chile
Alexis Mac Allister is suffering with an adductor issue after being brought off in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Chile in the early hours of Friday morning. The Liverpool midfielder opened the scoring for the world champions, before being substituted in the 79th minute. He had been an injury doubt before the game with manager Lionel Scaloni confirming that Argentina needed to assess him after the 25-year-old missed training earlier in the week after reporting for international duty.
” While Mac Allister would be fit to play against Chile, he is now an injury doubt for Argentina’s next 2026 World Cup qualifier away at Colombia. Scaloni confirmed after the win that Mac Allister was withdrawn with an injury, saying: 'We still don't know how Nico and Alexis are because they had discomfort, we'll see if they can play against Colombia.
