Videos surfacing online show an abortion rights demonstration taking place outside the Supreme Court, Tuesday afternoon.
Members of U.S. Congress, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, were arrested Tuesday after protesting and blocking traffic outside the Supreme Court., effectively removing access to abortion services as a right.Tuesday afternoon that officers arrested 35 people, including 17 members of Congress, for crowding, obstructing or incommoding. They said they gave three warnings to demonstrators to move before the arrests.
“Today, Congresswoman Presley joined her colleagues and grassroots advocates for a non-violent civil disobedience to protest the Supreme Court's cruel and callous decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and strip away abortion rights for everyone who calls America home,” said Presley spokesperson Ricardo A. Sanchez.People took to social media to share their thoughts and videos using the hash tag #BanOffOurBodies.
