Alexandra Sorenson will sing at the Kirk of St. James as part of a summer recital series on Aug. 4. Contributed.CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Lyric mezzo-soprano Alexandra Sorensen and trumpeter Shaw Nicholson will perform at the Kirk of St. James in Charlottetown as part of a summer recital series on Aug. 4.
During her time at university, Sorenson sang in the UPEI Chamber Singers, the concert choir and the vocal octet. She will continue her studies in the master's degree opera program at the University of Toronto in the fall.Nicholson, originally from P.E.I., is a trumpet student at the University of Ottawa. While living in Nova Scotia, he appeared with Scotiafest orchestra, baroque concerts at St. George’s Round Church and a concert with the Kings College Chorus.
