JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Alexandra are calling on City of Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba to come and address them.Residents have blocked roads leading into and out of the township with burning tyres. These issues the residents are complaining about include the city's failure to stop the mushrooming of illegal structures in the area.
Mpho Baloyi of the Alexandra Chamber of Business said lawlessness and a lack of service delivery mean no major investment will take place in the township. Meanwhile, community leaders are engaging the police to stop them from firing rubber bullets at protesters.
