The Irishman wants to halt the potential exit for the 17-goal hitman after taking over as Rapid Bucharest boss.
New Rapid Bucharest boss Neil Lennon insists he has no plans to allow Albion Rrahmani to leave the club amid interest from Rangers.
The Light Blues are said to hold a significant interest in the £6.2m-rated striker and Record Sport revealed Rrahmani has been extensively scouted by Ibrox chiefs. The 23-year-old appeared to signal that he was heading for the exit door from the Romania side as he said goodbye to punters in emotional scenes on Monday night after a successful campaign which has saw the Kosovo international net 17 goals.
But with the former Celtic boss arriving as the club's new manager, Lennon has admitted he hopes to rule out a potential exit for the Scottish Premiership and has planned sit-down talks over his future after the emotional farewell. As it stands, Rrahmani has two years remaining on his current deal and Lennon insists he wants to keep the player in the Superliga following his return to management.
Speaking at his first press conference in Bucharest, the Hoops' hero said: "I don't want him to leave anywhere. He a it a top player and goalscorers are a valuable commodity to the team. "They are very important players and he has had a fantastic season. That is a discussion that we hope will take place but I can't control that at the minute."
