Education Minister Adriana LaGrange said the funding will go towards language, social, and educational supports for the new students. In September, Alberta schools identified more than 2,200 registered students as Ukrainian evacuees. LaGrange said further funding will be provided in March 2023 to ensure students who arrive mid-way through the school year continue to be supported.
