The dashboard also shows that the number of opioid-related EMS calls, emergency department visits and hospitalizations are down. More people were also prescribed opioid agonist therapy in the second quarter of 2022, with 7,600 Albertans accessing the treatment medication Suboxone and nearly 900 people getting Sublocade, the 30-day injectable version. Experts have called for continuing expansion of OAT programs.
