Alberta politicians campaign on camping, parks during May long weekend yyc abpoli
In a statement to Postmedia, UCP Banff-Kananaskis candidate Miranda Rosin said her party has a record of building and upgrading campsites and trails, pointing to that $211 million over three years earmarked for provincial parks and public land.
Campers were in good spirits despite a fire ban at the McLean Creek Campground on Friday, May 19, 2023.“Our United Conservatives have balanced environmental conservation with economic growth and diversification, and that is a track record I am proud of.” The party’s candidate for Banff-Kananaskis said the NDP would make up the revenue associated with that pass via increased operational spending; the province projected it would bring in about $15 million from the program last year.
“But we want to prioritize access to parks for all Albertans regardless of how much disposable income they have.”
