Also among the newly-elected MLAs filling critic roles are Edmonton South-West MLA Nathan Ip on jobs, economy, and trade, Calgary-North East MLA Gurinder Brar on small business, and Edmonton-Decore MLA Sharif Haji on immigration and accreditation.
The announcement comes after Premier Danielle Smith announced her latest cabinet on June 9, including one minister, Tanya Fir, dedicated to arts, culture and status of women. Parliamentary secretaries have yet to be announced. A previous October cabinet announcement saw Smith split various labour files between the newly-created skilled trades and professions and the jobs, economy and northern development ministries. Housing issues fell to the renamed seniors, community and social services ministry.
