Alberta First Nation wants to move ahead with its own police force

"It is time for the federal government to unfreeze, finish their review, finish this off. Let's get going." Last month, Siksika signed a historic settlement with the federal government that provided $1.3 billion in compensation to the First Nation to resolve outstanding land claims, which include about 46,500 hectares of Siksika's reserve and certain mineral rights taken by Canada.
