Paul Sheppard, former headmaster of St. Joh\u0027s School of Alberta, was convicted of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching
that Yungwirth ought to have erred on the side of disclosing the documents, which go back to 1997.
The three-judge court of appeal panel, however, shot down that idea, saying the defence could not expect the judge to “ferret through” potentially thousands of pages of records on the suspicion there might be something useful for the defence.
