When asked for specific examples of what spending will be eligible, Amery reiterated the deal is meant to direct money into improving and expanding childcare.
“We’ll have to wait and see what the details of that is, and whether those numbers of spaces are going to be enough to absorb the immediate waitlist and demand issues that we’re seeing,” said Churcher. Alberta Opposition NDP children’s services critic Rakhi Pancholi said in a statement the announcement is long overdue.
