Montgomery AdvertiserA Montgomery woman says the local Humane Society euthanized her dog hours after they picked it up.A pink notice, taped to her door, informed her that a Montgomery Humane Society officer had picked up her dog, which had been running loose in her neighborhood Monday morning. But when she called the shelter, shelter employees couldn't find him in his kennel.
"I broke down," Wright said on Wednesday, choking up at the thought. "That's my dog. I think it's harder for my son. My son looked at Vinnie like a best friend. It is hard for me to see my child go through that." The Humane Society officer must have known it was her dog, Wright said, because she left a notice on her door.
"There was every intention to do so" with Vinnie, Tears said, but there was a mix-up between him and a similar looking dog who had been slated for euthanasia.
