Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller has made a bold declaration ahead of their African Football League game against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Al Ahly boss said this in a pre-match press conference ahead of their African Football League match against Sundowns. The AFL semifinal second leg match will take place at Cairo International Airport.Sundowns go into the match carrying a slender 1-0 lead from the semifinal first leg game.

“I am very happy that the fans will pack the stands tomorrow. We have a fantastic fan base. They will bring energy to the stadium and will push us to victory,” Koller told“We expect tomorrow’s game to be tactical. We will do our best to win the match and reach the AFL final,” Koller said. The CAF Champions League winning coach then retaliated that he felt that Al Ahly were denied a penalty in the first leg. “In the first leg we had a clear penalty after Percy Tau was tackled inside the box.

“We don’t have enough time to prepare for the match. We have only one training session to prepare for the game. I am sure that the players will do everything on the pitch to win the match.”“We have got a goal in Cairo. We know that and Al Ahly knows that too, and it stresses them a lot. The message that they have got is they know Sundowns can score in Cairo,” Mokwena said in a post-match press conference on Sunday.

Al Ahly have a mountain to climb in the second leg. The Egyptians need to beat Sundowns by two unanswered goals in order to book a final ticket.A win by a single goal for Al Ahly in the return match would drag the game straight into post-match penalties. The overall winner between Al Ahly and Sundowns will date either Wydad Casablanca or Esperance in the final. Wydad won the first leg 1-0.
