The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says Ethan Liming, 17, of Akron, was pronounced dead at the scene late Thursday night.
According to police, officers were called to the parking lot on the 400 block of West Market Street at about 10:43 p.m. When they arrived, they found Liming unconscious in the parking lot near the school’s basketball courts. Police say Liming had “severe” injuries.
Liming reportedly arrived at the parking lot with a group of friends. Shortly after arriving, Liming and his friends got into a fight with at least three other males who were already on the courts playing basketball. Liming was knocked unconscious during the fight and “brutally assaulted,” police say.
