AKRON, Ohio - The man who police say absconded with a child Sunday faces several charges. Friday, the Akron Police Department released the body camera video of the search that triggered an Amber Alert.According to Akron PD, Eckel attacked the woman who brought the child before running off with the boy.This triggered the issuing of both an arrest warrant search and an Amber Alert.
Officers narrowed the search to the 1300 block of Sylvan Avenue Sunday night, and shortly after, Eckel released the child unharmed but barricaded himself in an apartment.
