Video footage presented in court shows murder suspect Mziwethemba Gwabeni arriving at King Shaka International Airport at the same time as AKA on the day he was killed. Gwabeni is accused of organizing the hit. Two of the seven men accused in the case, including Gwabeni and Lindokuhle Ndimande, are seeking bail again.

DURBAN - One of the accused in the murder case of rapper Kiernan Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane, has been placed at the King Shaka International Airport at the same hour that AKA arrived on the day he was killed.

It’s understood that Mziwethemba Gwabeni can be seen arriving at the airport on 10 January 2023 in video footage presented by the State in the matter during ongoing court proceedings. Two of the seven men accused of killing the rapper and the chef have brought a new application for bail in the Durban Magistrates Court. This includes video footage clearly showing the alleged hit organiser Gwabeni at the airport, following Forbes and his entourage.

Lead prosecutor, advocate Lawrence Gcaba, read an affidavit by investigating officer, Kumarasan Pillay. "The footage shows Mr Forbes approaching the parking area to meet his entourage who arrived earlier. As he walks, shortly behind him is accused four, who can be clearly seen on the footage.""And whilst walking behind them, he makes a call to accused number 2 and when he sees them dropping off at the airport, he makes a call to accused 2 - now there’s no doubt in the State’s case that we are placing Mr Gwabeni inside the airport.
