What if your kid just likes a different first name better?
singer’s daughter was originally named ‘Ava,’ but according to mom Rochelle Deanna Mclean, she’s been going by different names since she was five years old.
“After two and half years years of homeschool, these two beauties are back to school! Lyric is starting kindergarten and Elliott is in fourth grade! I can’t believe it! I’m so proud of these girls. As much as I am going to miss them, I’m excited to watch them spread their wings and fly!” the photo was captioned.
As this was the first time the couple had publicly referred to Elliot by her chosen name, mom Rochelle decided to address the topic in her Instagram stories, explaining “For those asking... not that it's anyone's business," she says, "but Elliot's name change is not a gender thing. 'Ava' has changed her name quite a few times since she was about five. Last year she asked us to start calling her Elliot and it stuck. She wanted something unique that no one else had.
