Flights at Vnukovo International, one of the three major airports in the region had to be diverted as a result, affecting planes coming from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
Air defences destroyed four drones, while another was jammed using electronic countermeasures, crashing into the Odintsovo district, the ministry said today.Meanwhile, local news agencies reported that two drones were intercepted near a village 19 miles southwest of the Kremlin.
